An example of Scottish innovation, the CarieScan PRO™ is based on technology developments from nearby Universities of St Andrews and Dundee Universities. Two local dentists, with electrochemical scientists, progressed the development of impedance spectroscopy, for the direct measurement of decay in teeth by starting development activity which moved the measurement from a large bench mounted system to a small portable battery operated device. Over six years of research and development in both in-vitro and in-vivo applications resulted in the first product which following use and feedback within the dental field, has been enhanced resulting in the CarieScan PRO.
We are located in Dundee Scotland. CarieScan Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of 3D Diagnostic Imaging Ltd.
